ANIMAL PORTRAIT

When commissioned to paint a pet I visit the client and take many photographs of the little darlings.  Getting to know the personality of the subject is important to me so that I can try to capture that in the painting.  Most of the time I utilize a few of the photos to get the right pose, tilt of the head and expression all rolled into one.  Together, the client and I determine the best environment and background.                                      (click on image to view full picture)
