This painting started out as a 20x20 painting of these wonderful sheep I came across while driving to the Northern Neck.  It was early morning and the light was dancing across their backs as they grazed near the road.  Not to miss the opportunity to have them so close by, I stopped the car and took multiple photos.  Being nervous, they all saw me, turned around and started walking away and gathering under a tree.  I wanted to paint more than one painting and decided to make a triptych of 3, 20x20 inch paintings, all framed together.
